SIEBE EXTRUDERS

The high performance of SIEBE single-screw extruders is based on three principles: Computer-calculated screw geometries designed for the respective polymer, large LID ratios, and heat energy, most of which is supplied from the outside all ensure non-destructive plasticizing of the material. The precise temperature control of each heating zone guarantees temperature fluctuations of less than 0.25% of the setpoint value. The use of highly dynamic drives and direct power transmission from the drive to the screw ensures pulsation-free output with maximum temperature and pressure uniformity. The screw and cylinder material combinations are designed for optimum anti-friction properties and minimum wear. The cylinder is made of nitriding steel and can be centrifuged with a carbide alloy on request. The conventional intake area is temperature-controlled and water-cooled in order to guarantee a stable conveyance of solids. The low backlash extruder gearboxes are designed for long service life and low noise emission. They are designed as two-stage helical gearboxes in a vertical U construction. The cover of the cylinder has a very low surface temperature due to its special design. The cover of the cylinder is easily accessible for maintenance and inspection. All SIEBE extruders of the standard series are designed for an operating pressure range of 0 - 700 (1000) bar and for temperatures up to 300 °C.

SIEBE EXTRUDER WITH GAS INJECTION

The SIEBE single-screw extruder can be optionally equipped with integrated gas injection.
The low-maintenance gas injector is optimally suited for all dosing quantities and remains in the extruder cylinder even if the gas dosing is inactive (solid production). The main propellant gases used are nitrogen N₂ (SGI-N) and carbon dioxide CO₂ (SGI-C), but argon can also be added with SGI to the molten plastic without any problems.
The modular and compact design of the gas injection (SGI) with control unit enables retrofitting into existing cable extrusion lines.

SIEBE EXTRUDER WITH HIGH-TORQUE MOTOR

By developing extruders with high-torque three-phase AC motors, SIEBE expands its product range for ultra-modern and extremely powerful, customer-specific optimized extrusion extruders with high-torque motor systems to include a new building block.
Compared to conventional extruders, the high-torque version offers a number of advantages: The absence of the gearbox reduces the overall length and interference peaks caused by gear wheels are eliminated. The direct drive of the screw enables a more rigid torque transmission than by coupling or V-belt. There is no need to compensate for axle misalignment caused by drive elements. Maintenance costs are significantly reduced due to the elimination of oil changes and the fact that only two ball bearings remain in the drive. Extruders with high-torque motors deliver high, constant torque at low and medium speeds. This results in a high overload capacity, because the mechanical limitation of the drive elements is no longer applicable. Furthermore, the motors have a more favorable energy balance, since a higher degree of efficiency is achieved due to the lack of additional drive elements. The integrated water cooling also eliminates the noise generated by conventional fan motors.

SIEBE currently produces extruders for main and co-extrusion as well as stand-alone operation for common screw diameters with a wide torque range in the proven SIEBE quality. With the user-definable machine stand, individual customer needs can be met.

SIEBE EXTRUDERS FOR FLUOROPOLYMERS

Compared to a "conventional" extruder, the fluorine extruder differs only in its specially alloyed surfaces. The very acid-heavy fluoropolymers must be processed with extruders with a special acid-resistant surface alloy. Conventional materials would only withstand the high degree of acidity for a very short time.
Fluorine extruders are therefore less suitable for processing standard polymers. The focus in material selection is clearly on acid resistance, but not on abrasion resistance.

SIEBE LABORATORY EXTRUDERS

Test out new or existing materials regarding processability, color mixing and other properties with different screw designs on your own.
